Facebook Reels Creation

As the research lead for the central Reels Creation team, I produced strategic insights and worked closely with an embedded team to iterate on the user experience.

Over the past year and half, we developed the core experience that allows people to produce Reels on Facebook. This includes frameworks for inspiration, quick access to tools, and publication enhancements beyond standard Facebook products.

I also developed generative research that led to enhancements to where Reels live on Facebook, and the overall creation model for Facebook products.

On the Dropbox sharing team, one of our core missions was to evolve the sharing experience to enable users to share effortlessly. However, sharing is a complex task to get right across users, as different people have varied use-cases, privacy needs, expectation mapping, and values.

To help the team define the levers that could augment the sharing modal, I conducted generative research to craft a framework to understand the use-cases and values of our varied population.

The result of the research was a statistically validated value-hierarchy for three key sharing cohorts and associated use-cases. The team used this output to define the mission and project charter for the next 1 - 2 years.

Apple Human Factors Engineering

As a human factors engineer at Apple, my sole job was to develop research that would help us understand how humans impact technology and vis versa.

I led research on the 2019-2021 Apple iPads from Mini to Pro, as well as soft goods, to inform antenna, physical, industrial, and software design solutions across the Apple ecosystem.

To do this, I developed a programmatic approach that produced naturalistic behavioral data that teams could use to inform design factors such as wireless design, button placement, orientation factors, and SW interactions.

Chase Website and Mobile App

At the bequest of our new head of design, I led charter was to reinvigorate the design systems, language, and aesthetics of the Chase platform, starting with the Chase mobile app.

Given a six month time-frame from our new Head of Design, I led research for a core team of six to redesign the Chase mobile app in terms of design system, language, and aesthetics. I conducted multiple rounds of research, from reviews, to generation of metrics and concepts, to usability testing.

After months of iteration, the team launched our updated Chase application on Android and iOS from 3.4 stars to 5 stars with over 26,000 reviews.
